U.S. Airways in the fourth quarter profit fell 35 percent
U.S. Airways U.S. Airways (LCC) said on Wednesday that fourth quarter net profit fell 35 percent in passenger revenue growth failed to offset the sharp rise in fuel costs.
Its net profit of $ 28 million from a year earlier, or 17 cents per share to $ 18 million, 11 cents a share.
Does not include one-time expenses, the company posted 13 cents a share, higher than accept the FactSet survey of analysts’ average estimate of 2 cents.
Revenue rose 8.5 percent, to $ 3.16 billion, slightly higher than the average analyst estimate of $ 3.15 billion.
The fourth quarter passenger unit revenue increased 9.9%, reached a record high of 15.2 cents. Fuel costs increased by $ 232 million.
U.S. Airways passenger demand is expected to remain strong.
